Purpose of the position

Manage Panalpina selling rates (client tariffs, contracts and PO’s/WO’s);

  • Key interface and responsibility for RFP’s and Tenders;

  • Tender and RFP Quality Management;

  • Internally Publish and Administer Sub-Contractor Tariffs;

  • Manage the Pricing Desk function and activities;

Key Tasks

Support the development and implementation of the Country M&S Annual Strategic Plan;
Manage, standardize and internally publish Panalpina Customer Sales Tariffs;
Proactively review and analyze existing contracts/tariffs;
Internally publish the applicable sub-contractor tariffs (Panalpina buying rates);
Coordinate with the Procurement Department and other Senior Management to ensure the updates of sub-contractor applicable tariffs (customs brokers, truckers, airlines, shipping lines, port terminal operators among others);
Coordinate with senior management updates on Port and Airport Governing Tariffs (Port Fees and ENANA charges);
Handle and Coordinate with Senior Management the response to RFP’s and major tenders from current and potential customers;
Keep abreast of international import and export restrictions and embargoes;
Keep abreast of Customs Clearance regulations;
Oversee pricing desk responsible daily activities and coach whenever required;
Whenever required draft quotations for import and export services;
Oversee the quotations databases and monthly audit the quoted prices versus actual file operational costs (GPM monthly reporting);
Proactively collaborate with Operation departments in the Quotation Handover Process;
Actively put forward suggestions for procedural improvements;
Uphold Panalpina’s internal policies as per the IMS (Code of Conduct, HSE regulations and Legal and IT Compliance policies);
Carry-out additional tasks as defined by management;

Market & Industry knowledge

Functional experience in Marketing and Sales, preferably related to Air\Sea Freight Forwarding, Customs brokerage or in PA core vertical industries;
Understanding of PA strategy, products and service portfolio;
Comprehensive knowledge of the Angolan market and its industries;
Knowledge of the Oil and Gas Energy industry and\or other PA core products – customers, competitors, suppliers, overall environment;

Educational background

Higher Education Degree or Above;
Up to 3 years of upward Management experience;
Between 3 to 5 years proven work experience in Marketing and Sales within the Freight Forwarding sector;

Language Skills

Fluent in English and Portuguese

Computer Literacy

Proficiency in IT tools – Microsoft 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
