A Radio Operator is responsible for managing all communication systems on an offshore installation, including radios, satellite phones, and intercoms. They ensure clear, reliable, and timely communication between the rig, vessels, and onshore facilities, which is critical for safety and operational efficiency.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain radio and communication equipment
Monitor and manage internal and external communications
Relay safety alerts, weather updates, and operational messages
Maintain communication logs and records
Ensure emergency communication systems are functional
Assist in coordinating helicopter and vessel movements
Support deck crew and operations with routine messaging and signaling
Requisitos
Offshore certification from OPITO (BOSIET & HUET)
Offshore medical certificate
Prior experience in radio operation, telecommunications, or offshore support roles
Knowledge of emergency procedures and signaling protocols
