Network Support Technician

-Monitoring and Maintaining of local area network (LAN), Wireless Networks and      Wide Area Networks (WAN) over satellite link both at minesite   and   in Luanda  offices 

-Maintaining accurate Asset Register of all onsite IT and Security equipment 

-Ensuring that all Windows Servers and Desktops/ Laptops have the latest firmware  and updates installed 

-Ensure that all Windows Servers and Desktops/ Laptops are running on the latest    Antivirus Software and virus definition files, and maintaining the   corporate anti-    virus system. This includes maintaining a Guest network system, as well as a  separate system for non-work and social access as     required 

-Installation and maintaining of all cabling and fibre optics when required 

-Installation and maintaining of all Solar Power & UPS Equipment 

-Installation and maintaining of all Two-way radio equipment 

-Installation and maintaining of all network related equipment 

-Installation and maintaining of all CCTV Equipment (Network Video Recorders,    Cameras, etc) 

-Installation and maintaining of all Access Control Systems (Server, Controllers,  Readers, etc) 

-Installation and maintaining of data backup solution 

-Liaising with users to maintain company computers operational, as well as  maintaining functionality of peripherals such as printers, scanners etc, in   working  order 

-Configure and install computers as and when required; 

-Verify the correct operation of the firewall and filters on upload/download to      protect company networks, and restrict access to sites as directed - Report to the  Head of the IT Dept, or the responsible manager as appropriate 

-The position is for a Network Support Technician to be based in Angola. Most of the   work will be PC and Network Support with sub divisions.
