SENIOR SAFETY & LEAN PRODUCTION (LP) ENGINEER

Objectives / Scope:

  • To assist the Lead or Principal engineer in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Aker Solutions values, systems and processes including PEM and AKIiMS.

Main Responsibilities

Organisational:

  • Assist in the preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Aker Integrated Management System (AKIMS) where applicable.
  • Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure project deliverables are generated via AKIMS where applicable.
  • Review and check the work of others.
  • Assist the lead or principal engineer in the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
  • Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function.
  • Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work.
  • Assist the lead engineer in the compilation of weekly reports on progress via AKIMS where applicable.
  • May have responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function.
  • Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
  • Deputise for the principal engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required.
  • Facilitate HAZOP / HAZIDs
  • Attend meetings as and when required.

Technical:

  • Prepare engineering concepts and develop into detail design.
  • Carry out manual and computer analysis.
  • Prepare CTR estimates for safety and  LP scopes.
  • Use of computerised information processing both general and specialist for Structural Engineering such as PHAST, FRED, CIRRUS, BOWTIE XP and PIPNET
  • Preparing and managing qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, Bowtie analysis, fault and event tree analysis and consequence and physical effects modelling
  • Producing formal technical reports, HSE/Safety Cases, COMAH reports, HSEIA's
  • Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing.
  • Carry out single and inter-discipline checks and reviews.
  • Review and check subordinate engineers work.
  • Carry out onshore / offshore survey and answer site queries.
  • Provide technical input to construction workpacks.
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as PDMS, Navisworks and Autocad.

HS & E Responsibilities:

  • Ensure familiarity with Aker Solutions’ HSEQ Policies, Principles, Just Care™, HSE Mindset, Just Rules, Just Culture and HSE Operating System
  • Actively promote, through your personal commitment, Aker Solutions’ HSEQ Policies, Principles, Just Care™, HSE Mindset, Just Rules, Just Culture and HSE Operating system
  • Be seen as a role model on HSE matters within your areas of operation and influence
  • Demonstrate HSE leadership of HSEQ Policies, Principles, Just Care™, HSE Mindset, Just Rules, Just Culture and HSE Operating system
  • Take personal responsibility for HSE local site rules and ensure regular review of your personal HSE agreement
  • Intervene and ensure intervention by others where required
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with Procedures
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and innovations that may affect safety and welfare of personnel or protection of the environment, and inform colleagues accordingly

LEAD SAFETY & LP ENGINEER

Objectives / Scope:

  • To assist the Principal engineer in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Aker Solutions values, systems and processes including PEM and AKIiMS.

Main Responsibilities

Organisational:

  • To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is maintained at all times
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of the modifications project scopes of work.
  • Act in the capacity as Task Lead Engineer when assigned to do so within a project or contract.
  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change.
  • Preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Aker Integrated Management System (AKIMS) where applicable.

SENIOR SAFETY & LEAN PRODUCTION (LP) ENGINEER / LEAD SAFETY & LP ENGINEER

Qualifications:

  • Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
  • Educated to degree level in engineering discipline
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Conversant with appropriate technical software
  • Aware of latest technical developments
  • Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
  • Current Offshore Medical Certificate.

Experience: Relevant professional experience

Personal Skills:

  • Ability to direct and guide engineers and designers
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Pro-active attitude
